Air Governance overview

Get started with Air Governance: manage users, configure AI access and policies, and monitor usage and costs.

  • About Air Governance: Learn what Air Governance is, who it's for, and what it manages.
  • Plans and pricing: Compare the available JetBrains Air plans and choose the one that fits your organization.

Where to begin

  • Add users: Before you can give users access to company resources, you must first add them to your organization.
  • Enable AI: Enable AI-powered features for all users in your organization or only for selected ones.
  • Add AI credits: Purchase AI credits to pay for running agentic tasks and other features.
  • Buy AI seats: On a paid plan purchase enough AI seats for users who need AI access.
  • Set AI credit limits: Limit how many AI credits each user or service account can consume per month.
  • Grant AI access: Grant AI access to specific users and groups, unless you granted it to everyone when enabling AI.
  • Review AI consumption: Monitor and analyze how efficiently AI credits are spent in your organization.

Paid features

  • Set AI policies: Control which AI tools, agents, MCP servers, and providers each user, group, and service account can use.
  • Connect AI providers: Connect your own provider accounts so usage is billed to you directly instead of consuming AI credits.
  • Manage agents: Manage the ACP-compatible agents listed for your organization and add custom agents of your own.
  • Add MCP servers: Extend agents with external data sources, APIs, and custom tools that you approve for the whole organization.
  • Query usage data: Pull AI adoption, activity, and credit consumption metrics into your own reporting and cost analysis tools.

Security and compliance

  • Audit: Review who changed what in your organization, and when.
  • Session explorer: Trace reported agent sessions by user, agent, and model.

Users and access

  • Groups: Manage users by team instead of one at a time.
  • Roles: Define what each user, group, and service account can do.
  • Service accounts: Give automations and services their own controllable access.

Advanced

  • Air Context: Let agents search your codebases by meaning instead of reading files.
  • Air Gateway: Connect third-party coding agents to JetBrains Air.
  • Hosted VCS: Make your self-hosted repositories available to agents.
