JetBrains Air Help

Plans and pricing

Depending on the size and management needs, organizations can choose between different plans when using JetBrains Air.

Plan

Price

Description

Basic

Free

Essential capabilities for managing users, licenses, billing, and AI usage.

Business

$20 per seat per month *

Advanced AI governance, access control, and analytics for organizations that want full control over AI usage.

Enterprise

On request *

A custom plan for large organizations that need workspace-level controls, enhanced security, audit logging, and priority support.

* On a paid plan, you pay for AI seats monthly or annually based on how many users you want to have AI access. For more information, see AI seats, AI access, and Manage plans. To buy the Business plan, go to the AI settings page. If your organization is eligible, you can also try the Business plan for free for 30 days. The Enterprise plan is available on request. Before you buy, see How many AI seats you need.

On the Basic plan, all users with AI access can use AI-powered features through JetBrains Air within their limit of AI credits. On the Business or Enterprise plan, every user with AI access also requires a paid AI seat, which is how your organization pays for the extra features, such as custom policies and third-party AI providers.

The Early Access Program (EAP) allows you to try new features before general availability. You may notice the EAP labels in the sidebar or in other parts of the UI, designating pages and functionality that are still in development but are available for preview.

EAP features may change before general availability and may become paid features.

The chosen plan applies to the whole organization, so you can't keep some users on the Basic plan. If your organization needs advanced Air Governance features, you select a paid plan and purchase enough AI seats for all users who need access to AI-powered features. Service accounts don't require an AI seat regardless of the plan.

The cost of using AI for your organization depends on the following:

  • The amount of AI credits your organization requires. Regardless of the plan, AI-powered features that run through JetBrains AI consume AI credits.

  • On a paid plan, the number of AI seats you buy. You pay for the Business and Enterprise plans by purchasing an AI seat for every user with AI access.

** This applies to managing BYOK providers at the organization level. You can still use your own API key in your IDE on any plan. See AI providers in the IDE.

AI seats

You buy an AI seat for each user with AI access. The seat lets the user work with AI-powered features, but it doesn't cover their usage, which is charged separately in AI credits.

An organization is billed for the number of AI seats it purchases, not for the number of AI seats automatically assigned to users. Granting or revoking AI access does not affect billing.

You can buy additional AI seats at any time. If you buy them during a billing period, you pay only for the time left in that period. You cannot reduce the number of AI seats within a billing period that is already paid for.

You can start a Business plan trial to try paid features for free. During the trial, every user with AI access gets an AI seat.

For details about how seats are assigned to users and how to monitor them, see AI seats.

AI credits

In JetBrains Air, an AI credit is a single consumption unit that combines different resources related to agentic software development. Each service has its own price expressed in credits.

Users and service accounts consume AI credits only through JetBrains AI. Requests to a BYOK provider don't consume AI credits, so AI credit limits don't apply to them. The third-party provider charges your organization for this usage directly.

For information about prices related to LLM interaction, see Model pricing.

An organization in JetBrains Air does not need to be on a paid subscription plan to buy and use AI credits. Eligible users and services consume available AI credits within the limits configured by the organization administrator.

There are different types of AI credits depending on how an organization received them:

  • Any organization can buy regular AI credits directly or via an auto-purchase.

  • Any organization receives AI credits included in various JetBrains licenses.

  • Some organizations may receive AI credits as trial and compensation grants.

  • Some organizations may be eligible for postpaid AI credits and pay only for the amount actually used.

Different types of AI credits have different expiration rules:

  • Regular AI credits expire after 12 months.

  • AI credits included in a license expire on the last day of the calendar month in which the license expires.

  • Trial and compensation AI credits have a custom expiration date in each case.

  • Postpaid AI credits do not expire. You will pay only for those you actually use.

If an organization has different types of AI credits, they are consumed in following priority order:

  1. Trial and compensation AI credits

  2. AI credits included in licenses

  3. Regular AI credits

  4. Postpaid AI credits

For each type of AI credits, those with the closest expiration date are consumed first.

Model pricing

LLM interaction costs 1 AI credit per 1 USD (or converted proportionally to another currency) spent on the provider side. For information about the specific provider's LLM pricing, see:
